Retro Soul : This drum loop pack pushes up the tempo with soul drum loops that range from 120 to 164. With huge room ambience and vintage Ludwig drum kits these soul drum loops offer a truly authentic soul sound that cannot be found in any other drum loop library. We also included some tambourine loops to compliment some of these timeless rhythms. The Ludwig drum kits were carefully tuned to capture the essence of the drum tones used in the 60′s and 70′s.
Retro Soul features
9 collections of soul drum loops that were influenced by some very famous soul classics and include a wealth of fills and variations.
Total of 150 live played loops in WAV, AIF and REX2 formats.
The people whom I have shared them with seem to find them good/usuable and I still use them myself layered with Toontrack’s rompler’s for as ‘real’ a drum sound as possible.
The sample pack includes a total of 777 samples, 16bit/44kHz mono .wav format (132 MB).
There are separate folders for cymbals, hihat, kick, snare, and tom sounds. Most file names include info on the recorded channel — L/R/M(ono), and if you take a close look you should be able to figure out how to use the multi-samples to create sampler patches (none are provided in the download pack, if anyone makes some please share).

Goldbaby has also released the Cheetah MD16, a free sample pack featuring the sounds of a 16 bit British drum machine that came out in 1990.
Probably one of the ugliest drum machines I have ever seen! However it actually has some rather good drum sounds. Plenty of grit and punch with some rather good electro style sounds.

The Culture Kit features 138 samples taken directly from the kit of Brian Stabile, drummer of the prominent Orlando two-piece group Yogurt Smoothness. Featuring classic mic choices (beta52a on kick, md421′s on toms), this is a brash but natural kit stained deeply with the feeling of the performance.
The Swagger Kit is composed of 66 samples from the Pearl Custom X-treme drum kit played by Arkie Jay (drummer of Orlando’s Alias Punch). With an AKG 414 / Shure Beta 52a combo on a large 32″ kick, SM57′s on snare and an AT4041 pair on overheads, the swagger kit is rock solid and quirky — all you’d expect from a small, but tight rock drum set.
