Loop & Sound has released Eternity, a powerful virtual analogue synthesizer featuring 2 VCOs with about 140 waveforms each (Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, Square plus 135 special wave forms). Each oscillator can work in Single, Dual, Fat and Ultrafat modes.
The core of the synthesizer is the custom randomization that can be assigned or not to any of the knobs. It is easy to set up custom presets for instant production of any type of sound. For example, just create a Bass sound and fix (exclude randomization) the knobs to give the sound shape (VCA Envelope & VCF Envelope) to generate unlimited bass sounds with only a mouse click.
acid.milch&honig has released stylobox v1.0 and transistordrums v2.0c. Both plug-ins are free / donationware and are available for Windows as VST instrument plug-ins.
transistor drums is a drum machine that uses different kinds of sound generating: the kick drum works analogue-style, the snare drum works hybrid analogue-style/sampling, the clap is granular sampled and the rest of the drums are built with samples.
Velocity affects not only volume – it also has an influence on the EQ in the background, analog parameters and also (minimally) to the envelope. Also built in is a microtuning random generator which generates for every drum beat a tiny difference mainly on pitch but also on other parameters to generate a more sensitive pseudo-realistic sound. A patch random button is included to help in creative crisis.
stylobox is like a virtual analog or physical modelling emulation of a well known toy instrument classic. It works without any samples, so octaves are possible. The only parameter is the vibrato on/off switch, which can be used with the mod-wheel.
H.G. Fortune has announced the release of Alphatron, a virtual synthesizer instrument plug-in for Windows.
Alphatron is not just a simple VA synthesizer instead in using a 3rd oscillator with digital waves it does offer a lot more variation. Thus it can do analogstyle sounds reminding of the old Moog and Prophet days but also merge this with the digital realm in various ways to achieve sounds beyond.
Major differences of Basic Free (less features):
Basic Free: only 64 patches, no Lazy buttons, only 4 Seq Pattern per patch & 2 global Seq Pattern,
2 voices, no selectable GUI (instead there is a choice of four different dll to download),
no patch select on GUI, but a silly scroller reminder not to forget to support the developer.
